Who we are

Kenna and Jacob Kouns got married in 2024 and dream of starting and growing a family deeply rooted in agriculture, similar to their childhood.

Kenna grew up in Basehor, Kansas on some acreage next to horses, where she learned at a young age proper horsemanship. She has always had a massive heart for any critter she could get close to or any plant she could turn and use for family dinners. Kenna’s father told her stories growing up of his life working crop ground and cattle, even leading into the old stockyards in Kansas City.

Kenna graduated from K-State, majoring in animal science with a minor in horticulture. She loves using her education to cultivate and advance the agricultural industry.

Jacob grew up in McLouth, Kansas with a family who started from nothing, working their way up to where they are now. His grandparents were the typical small homesteaders who grew and raised whatever they ate for the year. This passion was passed down through his parents. Jacob also was blessed to see his parents start small businesses and see them flourish and change throughout his upbringing. This started a goal of being self-employed at a young age. From trying several “business” ideas, such as silly bracelets, scooping dog poop in middle school, all the way up to a want-to-be apparel company in high school.

Jacob currently serves in the Kansas Air National Guard and has a huge heart for serving others.

We are proud Kansans who grew up deeply involved in agriculture. We strive to be good stewards of God’s creation and care for the environment around us.
